A look into my classroom
Storms:
Below are pictures of some of my students taking an interactive approach to learn about storms!

STEM Challenge:
After reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff we had a challenge! What would happen if the bridge wasn't there? How would the goats get across the water? Below is a picture of a student trying out their creation!

School Wide Initiative:
This year we created a school wide initiative; we invited the entire elementary school to partake in our "Reasons Why We Love Our School" wall. In the month of February we encouraged students, staff and teachers to stop by our hallway and write out their own reasons for loving our school. Our initiative was well received; with over 250 entries! Our administration asked us to continue the tradition in years to come!

Spiraling and Review:
Throughout the year I like to incorporate fun scavenger hunts for my kids to participate in! While we are always reviewing the letters and sounds that we know, what better way to have a little holiday fun then with a scavenger hunt. Students are given clues and must use their letter/sound knowledge and understanding of rhyming in order to answer the clues. Here are a few pictures of our most recent scavenger hunt- creating a leprechaun trap and then trying to find the escaped leprechaun. The clues led us to his pot of (chocolate) gold!

Pollution:
Learning about pollution by creating our own polluted "ocean", and then trying to reverse the process with a hand made filtration system. Below are pictures of this fun yet very informative activity!
